The village of Lapradelle-Puilaurens sits astride the Cathar trail and with access to many walking, cycling and outdoor activities which include local white-water rafting. The village has its own grocery shop, post office, bar / bistro and restaurant with more similar facilities in close neighbouring towns and villages. A tourist train, Le Train Rouge, passes the house crossing the famous old viaduct in front of the house.

The local area boasts many sightseeing opportunities such as the Gorge de Galamus. The seaside and ski fields are both less than an hour away as are many of the famous cycling routes. Well known wine growing areas are close by giving access to wine tasting and purchase opportunities. With many medieval chateaux close by including Rennes le Chateau and the ‘Cité de Carcassonne makes the local history diverse, deep and rich with the area abound in things to see and do.
